Amazon jumping into the payment processing game

Amazon Web ServicesI received an email this morning from Amazon introducing their new Flexible Payment Service (FPS). FPS is described as a web service for accepting payments that developers may use, pushing the complicated pieces over onto the Amazon side.

Having dealt with online payment processing, I'd be very interested in something like this. The size & reputation of Amazon coupled with the technical capability to take the incredible pain out of payment processing will definitely be something to watch.

Reading through the developer documentation briefly, FPS also appears to contain features that might finally blow the lid off of micro-payments.

The email that landed in my inbox is the first mention of this I've heard. I expect to see a lot of buzz around this later on today.

Things have been pretty busy, but I've managed to crank out two new jQuery plugins.  They are currently sitting in a newly created project environment I am building for Qcodo called QForge.

Keynav - Keyboard Navigation Plugin for jQuery

Clipregion - jQuery Clipregion Plugin

See the attached file for the code and examples.  read more »

FireBug plans to add javascript debugging

FireBug plans to add javascript debuggingFireBug plans to add javascript debuggingHave I mentioned how much I love FireBug yet?  If you work with HTML, CSS or Javascript at all, it's a must-have Firefox extension.  The developer, Joe Hewitt, has taken many "best-of" extensions and combined them into one.  Now, as if that wasn't good enough, he's adding javascript debugging.  Goodbye Venkman, I won't miss you.  read more »
